Photo shoots with guitars are always fun and this morning was no exception. We had a need for some additional shots of the Prophecy Les Paul Custom GX and let me tell you… even though I have seen this guitar in person many times, it never fails to induce “tongue-hanging-out-of-mouth” syndrome! WOW! I know you will think I am totally biased but I have to say that this guitar is one of the baddest looking six-strings you will ever see. The Quilted Maple top in Black Cherry with gold hardware accents is nothing less than stunning. And it doesn’t stop with just good looks either. The satin-finish neck is super-fast and Gibson USA Dirty Fingers pickups make this thing scream!
Do yourself a favor… don’t take my word for it but run down to your local Epi dealer and check out the LPGX for yourself… in person. You’ll see what I am talking about. In the mean time you can check out the entire Prophecy line at the Epiphone Prophecy Micro-Website by CLICKING HERE.

It’s a pretty looking guitar painting and hardware!!
The gold gives a wondrfull touch!
Sorry my bad english, i’m from south of Brazil.
i currently own a prophecy les paul ex and i’m saving up for the gx.to anyone who reads this, you owe it to yourself to try these guitars!!after trying many, many guitars,i found what i was looking for.the neck is a dream, the pickups on either guitar will just melt you where you stand, stays in tune, and either finish needs to be seen in person!!!well done epiphone!!!
Love that guitar!
Please make an SG Junior (Like the old Gibson model) and I,ll buy one for sure! please!
I own this guitar, and out of my seven electrics (three of them are epi’s) this one is my personal favorite. Everything from the look, the sound and the playability is perfect! I currebtly have the SG Prophecy GX on order at my local Guitar Center store … it should be here in less than a week. Congratulations to Epiphone on an incredible line of guitars … and to me for owning one (soon to be two) of them!
Interesting idea Matt.
Here’s a quick update. I’ve had my SG Prophecy GX for a couple of weeks now and …WOW! This guitar is another masterpiece! I’ve always been resistant to SG’s in general. The necks seemed wide enough to land planes on. The neck on the Prophecy SG is essentially the same work of art that is on the Les Paul … with the notable exception of the legnth. Actually, it’s not any longer, but with a very slight heel that doesen’t begin until the 18th fret (14th on the LP) and full, complete access all the way to the 24th, it sure seems that way! Seriously, this neck can be summed up as: long, fast and … EBONY!
Keep it up Epiphone. These guitars may be a bit of a challenge to the “traditionalists” among us, but you are building some amazing guitars lately. I can’t wait to see what 2009 brings!
